The short version: Savvable is privacy-first. All your financial data — bills, budgets, expenses, debts, savings goals — is stored locally on your device using encrypted Core Data. We never see, collect, or transmit your financial information to any server. Your money, your business.

1. Overview

Savvable is a personal budgeting and bill reminder app developed by Grumpz Labs LLC. We believe your financial data is deeply personal. This policy explains what data the app handles and how we protect your privacy.

2. Data Storage

All financial data — including bills, subscriptions, expenses, income, debts, savings goals, budgets, and transaction history — is stored locally on your device using encrypted Core Data. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to Grumpz Labs or any third party.

A minimal profile (your display name and onboarding status) may be synced via iCloud if you are signed in to iCloud on your device. No financial data is included in this sync.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

Savvable does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on external servers:

  • Bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or financial account credentials
  • Transaction amounts, bill details, or spending history
  • Income, debt, or savings information
  • Receipt images or scanned data
  • Location data, device identifiers, or advertising IDs

4. No Analytics or Tracking

The app does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting technology. We do not track your behavior, spending patterns, or any other personal information.

5. Apple FinanceKit Integration

Savvable offers optional bank transaction import via Apple FinanceKit. This integration runs entirely on-device through Apple's secure framework. Imported transaction data is stored locally in encrypted Core Data and is never transmitted to Grumpz Labs or any third party. You can revoke this access at any time through your device's Settings.

6. Receipt Scanning

The receipt scanning feature uses Apple's on-device Vision framework for OCR (optical character recognition). All image processing happens locally on your device. Receipt images and extracted text are stored only in your local app data and are never uploaded to any server.

7. In-App Purchases

Savvable offers optional premium subscriptions ($4.99/month or $39.99/year). These transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit 2. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.

8. Third-Party Services

The only third-party services used are:

  • Apple App Store — Used to process in-app subscription purchases. Apple's privacy policy governs payment processing.
  • Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — Used to sync minimal profile data (display name, onboarding status) across your devices. No financial data is synced. Apple's privacy policy applies.
  • Apple FinanceKit — Optional on-device bank data import. All processing is local. Apple's privacy policy applies to the FinanceKit framework.

9. Widgets

Savvable includes home screen and lock screen widgets that display budget summaries and upcoming bill information. Widget data is stored in a shared App Group container on your device and is never transmitted externally.

10. CSV/PDF Export

You can export your data as CSV or PDF files. These exports are generated locally on your device and saved to a location you choose. Grumpz Labs does not receive copies of exported data.

11. Children's Privacy

Savvable does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the app complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and similar regulations.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

All financial data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage through your device settings. iCloud-synced profile data can be removed through your iCloud settings.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
